SPENCER CHARLES

Known for his talent in typography and design, Spencer Charles was asked by Sterling Publishing to create a few book covers for their Barnes & Noble leather bound edition. These book covers include the great American novel Moby Dick, The Complete Works of Shakespeare, and the book Death and the Afterlife.

Charles graduated from the University of Utah in 2010 and has worked as the Senior Designer atLouise Fili Ltd based in New York. Louis Fili Ltd specializes in logo, food package, and book design. Charles has also worked on lettering for the book cover Saturday Night Live: The Book, a book designed by Pentagram. Charles is currently working independently.

MICHAEL MABRY

Michael Mabry, who has been referred to as the Miles Davis of design, received his BFA from the University of Utah’s graphic design program in 1974. From there, Mabry stepped onto the international design and illustration stage. Mabry is best known for his corporate identities and distinctive brands for large clients. 

Mabry's international clients include Adobe, Martha Stewart Living, The Chronicle Books, and his work is included in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, SFMOMA, and the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Mabry’s intuitive designs come from an intense reflective process. 

In 2015 Mabry received the College of Fine Arts Distinguished Alumni from the University of Utah.
